Black Prince - The Sentinel statue is a homage to the dog that saved the Hoppins' lives, barking loudly at night and warning them about an ongoing fire in their house. The sculpture, at first placed at the Hoppins' family garden, was donated in 1896 to the City of Providence and thus relocated to the Roger Williams Parks Zoo. Reportedly one of the first large scale bronze sculptures cast in the United States, it was shown at The Crystal Palace in London as well as won a gold medal from the New York Academy of Design.
Príncipe Negro - A estátua, esculpida em 1851 por Thomas Frederick Hoppin e batizada de A Sentinela, é uma homenagem ao cão que salvou a família do escultor latindo alto em uma certa noite e avisando as pessoas da casa que esta estava pegando fogo. Inicialmente ela ficava no jardim da casa dos Hoppin, em Providence, Rhode Island, Estados Unidos; em 1896, ela foi doada para a cidade, sendo removida então para o Parque Zoológico Roger Williams.
A Sentinela, uma das primeiras esculturas em bronze de grande escala fundidas nos Estados Unidos, foi exibida em Londres, no The Crystal Palace e ganhou uma medalha de ouro da Academia do Design de Nova Iorque.
